Another national award nomination for Liverpool law firm MSB Solicitors
Family solicitor and specialist cross-border mediator at MSB, Wendy Eves, has made the shortlist for Family Law Associate of the Year at the National Family Law Awards 2018.
The awards aim to celebrate the success and achievements of family lawyers and the vital contribution that they make to society.
And Liverpool are also represented in the Clerking Team of the Year category and Family Firm for the North, with 7 Harrington Street Chambers and Broudie Jackson Canter making the respective shortlists.
It is the second time MSB have made the shortlist at the awards, having won Family Law Firm for the North in 2017.
Wendy Eves has more than 20 years’ experience as a family lawyer, dealing with issues from cohabitee disputes; relationship break down and financial issues including disposal of assets; disputes in relation to the arrangements for children; to adoption, domestic violence/abuse, emergency injunctions, harmful practices including honour based violence/abuse, international issues and often the protection of children.
Through her work, Wendy represents some of the most disadvantaged members of society, including refugees, asylum seekers as well as victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, modern day slavery or childhood sexual abuse.
Of her nomination, Wendy said:
I am staggered to be nominated, but totally thrilled. The breadth of talent in the UK family law sector is astounding and I feel hugely honoured even to make the shortlist.
Managing partner at MSB, Emma Carey added:
I’m incredibly proud of Wendy, but I can honestly say I am not surprised to see her nominated. Wendy is a talented and passionate lawyer who has made great strides in emerging areas of modern family law.
She works with unparalleled deftness and sensitivity, dealing with often complex and highly emotive cases.
Wendy is also committed to obtaining Legal Aid for her more vulnerable clients. She is a true advocate of access to justice for all.
The Family Law Awards are now in their 8th year. Winners will be chosen by a judging panel made up of the heads of the Family Law Bar Association, Resolution and the Association of Lawyers for Children, along with Family Law editors and publishing executives – and will be announced at a prestigious black tie dinner in London’s South Bank on Wednesday 28 November.
