Joanne joined MSB in 2000 and was appointed as a non-lawyer Partner in 2010. She is an ambassador for internal progression and a positive role model to all.

MSB is committed to training the next generation and Joanne has introduced progressive policies to provide alternative routes into careers in the law. She is mentor to the firm’s first Legal Degree Apprentice. Championed by Joanne, MSB has invested in the existing team by prioritising education and investment in people.

As the firm’s Compliance Officer for Financial Administration, Joanne ensures MSB is operating efficiently, profitability and in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules. She has developed an extremely comprehensive suite of policies and procedures to ensure exemplary financial controls are in place for all areas of work the firm practices in.

Joanne is instrumental in the continuous improvement of the firm’s systems to ensure efficient processing of client matters, aid risk management, and to enhance the client experience.

Joanne is continually at the forefront of developing robust procedures to ensure MSB is mitigating the risks of being involved in either a cyber attack or financial fraud. Her proactive approach has demonstrable results which have contributed to the firm successfully achieving Cyber Essentials accreditation.

Joanne actively and positively champions changes in legislation and regulation with in-depth consideration as to how the changes will impact the business. She was also named Practice Manager of the Year at the 2019 Law Society Legal Excellence Awards.
