Understanding the issue
We recognise that the breakdown of a marriage or civil partnership can be a traumatic time for any individual, not only emotionally, but also in dealing with practical and financial arrangements, which for many can be new and unfamiliar.
In most cases the divorce or dissolution of the civil partnership will proceed uncontested and without you needing to attend court. Our team of expert solicitors will guide you through the process to reduce any stress. With their expertise, a divorce/dissolution of a civil partnership can usually be finalised within six months from the date court proceedings are issued.
The more complicated part of the relationship breakdown to resolve relates to the arrangements in respect of the children and the settlement of matrimonial finances. Both of these issues can take time, as there are many things to consider. Frequently both of these issues can be dealt with through negotiations but if necessary, our team of experts in Family Law can guide you and represent you within children and financial remedy proceedings.
Additionally, we offer collaborative law as an option to separating couples, which involves matters being resolved through face to face meetings with both clients and their legal representatives being present. This helps guide separating couples as amicably as possible and reach a solution that is right for them and their family, in many instances without the need to attend court.
We are also able to refer separating couples to a specialist mediation service where they will receive assistance and guidance in resolving matters without court intervention.
