Our work

“The firm has been tremendous in its support and critically, provides an excellent service to the individuals that we refer to them. MSB has even provided advice to clients who are unhappy with their own solicitors and for a variety of complex reasons are often unable to change their legal representation.”
Understanding the issue
We know that a strong approach to asset management will enable our clients to deliver extra services and social value to their residents. Asset management goes beyond investing in good repair and improvements. It is about reviewing and changing the asset base to end up with the right accommodation in the right location, supported by excellent flexible services for our clients’ customers.
Having a specialist and dedicated team with decades of experience working solely for social landlords, we are tuned into how social landlords operate. We know our audience and pride ourselves on being accessible, removing the perceived barrier between solicitors and clients, avoiding using legal jargon wherever possible and being an extension of our clients’ teams rather than an external law firm. This has helped Louise Murphy and our team develop a unique place in the market and has allowed us to home in on what our clients want and how we can work with them to help achieve an affordable and sustainable housing stock.
We represent many of the main social housing providers in the North. We are regularly called upon to provide advice and support across a broad spectrum of issues across multiple tenure types. All of this experience means we have come across most scenarios that face our clients today.
Why MSB?
In 2018, MSB acquired specialist social housing and Legal 500 recommended law firm, Knox Ellis, as a cornerstone of its Social Housing and Regeneration team. The team has continued to build on the excellent reputation of Knox Ellis and works with a diverse range of social landlords across the North.
Whilst asset management can be complex, we pride ourselves on being able to distil down the legal requirements into easy to follow advice and guidance.
Our track record of assisting many key social landlords in redrafting their occupancy agreements across their stocks is just one example of our confidence in guiding clients through complicated legal issues, to help them achieve their objectives on extremely important matters which are at the heart of their viability as providers of social housing.
As a result of our experience and breadth of work, we fully understand and appreciate the environment within which our clients work. As such, we know what works and we know how to communicate our advice in a no-nonsense, straight forward, friendly manner in order to get the job done.
